The latest bro-team performance Apatow (the guy who brought us Superbad, Knocked Up and The 40-Year-Old Virgin), Pineapple Express is the history of the valley Denton (Seth Rogan) and Saul Silver (James Franco), a pothead and its distributors, taken at random from the drug in a war between two gangs with some corrupt police officers, high school girls and little time henchmen threw for a good deed. In its core, Pineapple Express is a comedy Stoner - a tale of two semi-laughing nervously slowly and good idiots in the way of their heads - a formula for some amusing comedy, over the years, Cheech and Chong's Up in Smoke and Dave Chappelle's Half Baked are two of the best examples. What Pineapple Express addition to these classic stupid, however, is the consistency of Music, the perfect chemistry between Rogan and Franco giddily ridiculous and the action sequences (and the fact that even mild poisoning are not required, enjoy the ambience). The film retains the sweet taste, is that in most movies Apatow, the "bad decisions and ultra-violent actions anyway to justify, or at least immediately.
